What If? An International Innovation Summit

Welcome to the International Innovation Summit

The International Innovation Summit is devoted to a simple question: What If? What if we could respond meaningfully to ongoing academic conversations? What if we could provoke new conversations to encourage critical inquiry and introspection? What if we could create innovations and inventions that improve the lives of others in large or small ways?

By dwelling in possibility with intentionality, we aim to use our summit as an opportunity to question assumptions and to rethink, reshape, and reimagine the world around us. Our summit accepts 1000-word papers that fit into any of the following three tracks:

  • Track 1 - Entering a Conversation

  • Track 2 - The Gadfly: Philosophical Provocations

  • Track 3 - Pitching a Vision

We value ambitious visions that engage with timely and ongoing conversations, philosophical provocations that ask the audience to rethink assumptions, and Rogerian arguments, delivering nuanced takes on issues. Projects that delineate specific local problems and offer precise, feasible solutions are also highly encouraged.

In the lead-up to our summit, we will facilitate a workshop week, October 21st - 25th, where participants will engage in peer review and work on their projects in collaboration with their academic mentor, Dr. Childers. Final abstracts (150 - 250 words) are due on Monday, October 28th. Three-minute thesis presentations will be delivered on Wednesday, October 29th, and Friday, October 31st. Final papers will be due Monday, November 3rd.
